Best Buys for Fitness Minded Folks

With so many items advertised as being healthy, what are the products that have caught my eye? Here are my best buys, the stuff I repurchase (or want to!) from supplements to clothing. The best part? The Amazon items are Prime eligible for all of you–like me–who love their Prime membership. Note: some of these are affiliate links, which might earn me a couple pennies.

Supplements

  • XTend BCAA Powder: Disclaimer…BCAA powder probably has little to no actual health benefits. If I find something that tastes similar to this blood orange flavor that is less expensive, I’ll update this list. But the price is worth it to me for the flavor. It really feels like a treat after a gallon of water. 🤣
  • Dymatize Protein Powder: My nutritionist recommended this one because it is a great deal. I do like another brand of protein powder as well (because of all the fun flavors!) but this one truly gives you a lot of bang for your buck, and it is tasty to boot.
  • Pescience Protein Powder: ALL the fun flavors!! YUM. I’ve mixed these in Greek yogurt with frozen fruit as a topping for a yummy dessert or snack. I love Snickerdoodle flavor, but right now they have Pumpkin Pie! Sign me up. Yes…I’m #basic. (P.S. This brand also has vegan products. If you are vegan, just double check the label…I believe the vegan flavors have green packaging!)
  • Reign Energy Drinks: Note…it has a lot of caffeine. If you are sensitive to caffeine, this one may not be your jam. But I love it. My favorite flavors are the White Gummy Bear, Orange Dreamsicle, and Reignbow Sherbet. The thermogenic ones are good too, I just don’t buy these as often. I have seen these at my local grocery store but Amazon has a much better price. I have not seen these at Sam’s Club or Costco yet. If you do–let me know!
  • LMNT: I’m not going to get all SCIENCE-y on you…but this stuff is amazing and there are all kind of health benefits. Poke around on their website and check out the blog for the science. My favorite flavor right now is the Citrus Salt. But that may switch to the Chocolate Salt when I try the hot cocoa recipe this winter. For some reason, I just had no desire to drink hot cocoa this summer during our endless streak of 100+ degree days. I wonder why. 😒
  • FitCrunch: My favorite protein bars. Taste like a candy bar. I have tried most brands out there, and the peanut butter chocolate flavor of this brand is my favorite.

Clothing

  • C9 Champion Workout Tank: So comfy and soft! Fit is true to size, and it is loose-fitting, so if you prefer a more snug fit, grab a size down. I like the loose fit, myself. BONUS: this one is eligible for Try Before You Buy! I’m never sure about clothing …so I love that Amazon offers this.
  • I’ve been on a quest for the best high-impact sports bra. Frankly, it is a very frustrating search. The closest I’ve come to finding something I like is this style. If I was willing to spend the extra $$ on a high end brand, would I really like that better? Who knows. One thing I know I won’t like is the price tag though.
  • My second favorite inexpensive sports bra…very comfy, but the wide band around the ribcage tends to fold, which is not uncomfortable, but rather annoying. Still does the job for less than $30 though.
  • IUGA leggings (this brand also has bike shorts). They have pockets. They stay in place. I like the price. They are not as stretchy or nice feeling as the higher end brands, and are slightly thicker, but honestly, at less than $25 a pair, I am happy with them. I bought my first pair in 2020 when I first started working out more than twice a week, and that pair still looks new. Overall, highly recommend!
  • Amazon Essentials Tech Stretch Crewneck T Shirt: Very comfy. I don’t always love tank tops, and these are stretchy enough that I don’t feel any pulling when moving around a lot. I don’t feel like I have to roll them up to be able to move my arms. And other than my dog chewing a small hole in one of them, which honestly isn’t the shirt’s fault, they have held up very well.

Any Suggestions?

My trainer has a lot of suggestions that I haven’t really tried. I’ve read good things about the benefits of magnesium as a supplement, but I also haven’t tried that. Preworkout hasn’t always agreed with me (story for another day 🤣) so I don’t really drink that.

What are your favorite things? Any must-trys? Anything I am missing? Let me know!

You HAVE to come try the bras at Under Armour!! They don’t fall under the Amazon umbrella…but I promise you, you’ll be hooked!!! Plus…you gotta gal! 😉
Also SOCKS!! Features are amazing…but I have some UA finds that will rival them any day!!

    • Lynsey

I will make it there soon! I have been curious about the UA gear…I just hate fighting the crowds which is why I choose delivery 99% of the time lol. I’m definitely in the market for socks too. Hopefully another big sale is happening within the next few weeks (before Spartan!). Let me know!
